Bill: Omnibus IV of 2323

Details

Submitted by[?]: Malivia Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2324

Description[?]:

Proposal I: Food standard is something too important to have numerous different laws in each region.
We need a set standard across Malivia

Proposal II: I see no reason why taxpayers should fully subsidize prescriptions for the wealthy.

MessageWe must ask the representatives from the MDP not to include proposals that are not related, as it makes voting on single bills difficult and often irrational.

MessageWe have a long tradition of having bills in Malivia that include unrelated proposals..as omnibus bills.

I feel its better to have several bills..having a few proposals each that can be negotiated..that it is to have three times as many bills with only one proposal.

MessageThese proposals have absolutely no relation to one another. Food regulations and medical payments aren't even covered by the same ministries. An argument might be made for national food standards, but combined with a rider creating a private market in medicine we cannot support it.

Random fact: Parties have the ability to endorse another party's candidate for the Head of State election (if there is one). This adds a strategic element to the elections.
