MessageThis bill was introduced prior to the Delarians escalating the threat toward us, thus we felt we could curb our defense spending. However with the current situation, we feel that we will be forced to aquire the funds elsewhere.

Although we dislike running our country in a deficit, we propose that this may be the best solution in regards to the current climate.

MessageWe should simply raise taxes to afford the increase. We can lower them again once the refugees have entered the workforce and begin paying taxes of their own.

MessageRaising taxes is a no-no.

The MDP opposes the excessive defense cuts, would support a modest cut.

Also wonders why the excessive increase in HHS?

For now, leaning no until better explained.

MessageTo quote the Raja's own statement:

"The increase in funding to Health and Social Services shall be used to set up temporary housing, food and health care for the Darnussian refugees."

Taxes are required if we intend to increase spending, and we cannot afford to cut services to any department at this time. Thus, tax increase.

MessageWe are moving this to a vote to handle the immediate need of funds for the refugees. We recommend a new budget to handle the needs of each department, as well as how best to aquire the funds.

MessageMilitary spend has been at an all time high for some time now, and we feel they can manage to handle this cut temporarily until such time as a new budget is passed.

MessageWe support this as an ad hoc budget to mee those imediate needs. Issues regarding funding will be handled with the LSP's proposal.

MessageWe encourage the LSP to vote for this bill, as voting on their own budget will expire before the elections in January. We need to approve spending for the next year immediately, and can fine tune the budget during the next session of the Jawatankuasa.

MessageOur calender reading skills are clearly wanting, as the LSP's proposal will in fact complete voting before the elections. We still support this as an ad hoc budget awaiting further deliberation on increase in taxes.
