The Ikradonian National Congress finds the following: -that nuclear weaons are never necessary to prevent war -that nuclear weapons are never necessary to win a war -that the use of nuclear weapons poses an unacceptable risk to the natural environment and to human health worldwide -that the threatened use of nuclear weapons poses unacceptable dangers to Ikradon's global credibility -that a global nuclear arms race is not in the Democratic Republic of Ikradon's best interest -that the disarmament of all nuclear powers remains strongly in the Democratic Republic of Ikradon's national interest -that nuclear power has many peaceful uses and ought to be promoted -that nuclear warfare has no social value and ought to be renounced Article I: RESOLVED, that the Democratic Republic of Ikradon renounces all intent to use nuclear weapons, or other weapons of mass destruction, in warfare or otherwise, contingent on the continued resolve of the Ikradonian National Congress; Article II: RESOLVED, that contingent on the same continued resolve, the Democratic Republic of Ikradon will never manufacture, purchase, or maintain nuclear weaponry for any reason. |
