Bill: Forming of a national cricket team for The Ashes test series

Details

Submitted by[?]: Covenanters (IA)

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2329

Description[?]:

Alduria have invited us to compete in this tournament against them (http://www.takeforum.com/particracy/viewtopic.php?p=125478&mforum=particracy#125478).

His Majesty The Holy Luthori Emperor and His Royal Highness The Prince Regent do not like the Holy Empire to lose at anything and so the following measures are considered necessary in order to maximise our chances of winning these Ashes and keeping them in the Holy land indefinitely.

1. An Imperial Cricket Board should be formed at public expense to oversee the sport and expand the Yodukan Presbytery Cricket Club into a national team.

2. The national sport should be changed to cricket in order to increase participation at spectator and player level.

It is also known from experience that success in sporting competitions can increase patriotism, as any party old enough to remember our good Archery run in the Olympics will not doubt remember?

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation.
