Bill: Law Enforcement Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Liberal Party of Indrala
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: August 2331
Description[?]:
It is inconcievable that Indrala can have laws yet no one to enforce them. That is why the Indralan Anti-Communist Coalition wishes to close the current power vacuum that will have undoubtedly contributed to organised crime and corruption. The SLP recognises that their will be differences within the coalition on this topic, and so this bill remains open for debate. |

Message | People of Indrala, do not be fooled by the SLP's guise as a laissez-faire "libertarian" party; the SLP is clearly a fascist party. Their obsession with crushing freedom must be stopped! The day that private "security" firms patrol our streets is the day liberty dies. |
Date | 02:25:20, December 18, 2006 CET | From | Indrala Harmony Party | To | Debating the Law Enforcement Act |
Message | We don't agree with this proposal. There is much potential for abuse in the competition between armed companies. What we propose instead of this is an unarmed police force (with stress in the unarmed part) under the command of the local governments. We hope that this would address the SLP's concerns, while still being acceptable to the WLI. |

Message | The PDR also opposes this proposed law. A police force should be motivated to serve by principal, not profit. For-profit police will be tempted to over-arrest in an attempt to secure more contracts. |

Message | The SLP recognises the IHP's stance and will await the PDRP's and the make-up of the new legislature beofre changing the proposal. |

Random fact: By default the head of government is the ultimate authority within a national government. In general terms, heads of government are expected to consult with cabinet colleagues (including those from other parties) before making significant decisions but they remain responsible for government action. |
