MessageGuns are dangerous. Obviously they should not be given to minors, nutjobs or criminals, that would be totally crazy. But besides that, we think there should at least be some kind of registration system with licenses..
Therefore, opposed

Messagewell maybe we would support. if you convinced us through reason, the reasons for making guns availavle to high street shoppers, showing the benefits outweighed the costs then we would probably support. So why should we support this article?

MessageYou should support because we are keeping the whole process licensing around. However, under the current system, those with mental illnesses can still get a gun. This will keep both those people as well as violent criminals from owning a hand gun.

MessageThe article doesn't say anything at all about licenses, but i will take your word for it. but I'm presuming that strict license conditions include mental illnesses, violent criminality as a condition for obtaining the status quo license anyway..And The proposed bill is saying to me that everyone can have a gun, providing they haven't had a history of any mental illnesses or criminalirty. Surely guns should be made almost impossible for citizens to get.

And even that to me isn't strict enough. The ONCP will shortly be proposing ridding our countries citizens of guns

MessageWhich we will adamently oppose for it is the people's right if they want to own a gun or not. And you say you are all for rights.

Messageyes. the only limit on freedom should be when your freedom intrudes on another. I think killing people kinda intrudes on the victims right to life.

MessageEven if that victim is a crook who is shot trying to steal something from a homeowner or a shop owner?

Messagewell that would be excessive force. i mean the shopkeeper killed somoence, when they themselves were in no danger. The shopkeeper might have intruded but the reaction of killing them is taking things to the next level.

Random fact: Any RP law granting extraordinary "emergency powers" or dictator-like powers to a government must be passed by at least a 2/3rds majority, but (like all RP laws) may always be overturned by a simple majority vote of the legislature.
