Bill: Religious Change Act

Details

Submitted by[?]: Unwritten Future Collective

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: November 2331

Description[?]:

This bill is to be created so that religion does not take over the power and the wills of the people of Egelion. It is only being brought to a bill because a religious state=/=a hegemonic state. Religion toys with the minds of the masses and only destroys their will to keep their country great. We are never for the complete banning of religion, but we are for an intense limiting of it, at least until Egelion is recognized as a world power.

Article 1: If a religious missionary comes through and turns out to be a terrorist, who will e put to blame rather than ourselves, the government? We must put at least some restriction as to who can come into the country.

Article 2: If religions are permitted to advertize themselves, more people will join the religion, taking their mind off of the betterment of their state and more on the betterment of themselves.

Article 3: A religious should not be allowed to prosper and avoid taxes, especially if they are making money. This would allow any group of people to say that their place of business is really a religious place, and that would allow them to avoid taxes, and taxes are key to maintaining a society.

Article 4: If a nutcase principal is running a school, he may implement religious principles upon that school. That is how it is in the status quo. When religion is implemented in school, the children lose focus on their education, and more towards God, or toward their hatred of religion. Since education is KEY to a hegemonic state, we must not let religion distract children, unless in a religious school.

MessageExM totally agrees, especially when we have tried to propose articles 1 and 4 already earlier. I hope now we are finally able to find a consensus over this matter.

MessageArticle One is outragous, and article two lacks sense. Religion is not about bettering the individual, but about bettering the community. Article three has some merit, although will be largely pointless, just wish one had bothered to vote on some of these.
