From | Proletariat Revolution Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | We already have those - it's called a driver's license; fail that, a healthcare or a passport. |

From | People's Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | We still need a card that can be read electronically...that way hospital records, allergies, height/weight information can all be kep on a single card and read through a machine in emergencies..
Also, its completely voluntary, so noone will punish you for nothing having one, nor will any police officer have the right to demand it off you. It's for your own security and safety. |

From | Proletariat Revolution Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | I find it's making us more closer to a more totalitarian nature by making people have these... once they have to have these, then they'll soon have to carry them. This isn't favourable. |

From | People's Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | I think there can be laws to prevent that from happening- its not a slippery slope. |

From | Right Wing Liberals Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | Passports may and will/would be still required y the other nation/s |

From | People's Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | A voluntary system makes no sense...we want to know who lives in the country and keep a record on them. This way people who have a subversive agenda, like terrorists, can be detected. Otherwise you can just say no and noone will ever know.
I repeat: people don't have to carry around cards, just register for them, so its okay-there is not going to any police harassment |

From | Proletariat Revolution Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | But then, this conflicts with the database act which seeks to keep the government's systems free of irrelevant and dated information. So, if we have information on citizens because it's mandatory for them to register, we can't keep it if it becomes obsolete and then they have to register again. |

From | People's Party | To | Debating the ID Act | Message | SLP- you're not honoring the provisions of the Hope and Spirit Act which is supposed to direct all govt spending in social areas (barring education and libraries and health) through charities and other social agencies instead of govt.
When you are not keeping your end of the bargain, how do you expect me to follow mine and honour what has been proposed before?
