Message | Yes, why not make the Republic an easy target for our enemies once again? Now is not the time for such sweeping reforms. P.S. We would actually support a motto change. The current one is a joke and whoever was responsible for it should be ashamed of themselves! |

Message | OOC: Not at all. But only that the -definition- of insanity can only ever be subjective. (Simply because no one can, or should, define normality/sanity - everyone is different afterall). Hubbard used the term within his own definition which was generally based on whether one's actions injure or harm more people than would help. But again, such definitions are purely subjective. Psychiatry defines sanity and insanity quite specifically, however, categorising numerous "disorders" based on personality and behavioural traits it considers abnormal or unacceptable in society. There's an interesting analysis of psychiatric labelling and the insanity (no pun intended) of definining normality/abnormality, using Psychiatry's "ADHD" as an example, at http://groups.msn.com/psychbusters/diagnosticcriteria.msnw |

Random fact: It is not allowed to call more than 5 elections in 5 game years in a nation. The default sanction for a player persisting in the early election tactic will be a seat reset. |
Random quote: "No one today can afford to be innocent, or indulge himself in ignorance of contemporary governments, politics and social orders. The national polities of the modern world maintain their existence by deliberately fostered craving and fear: monstrous protection rackets. The 'free world' has become economically dependent on a fantastic system of stimulation of greed which cannot be fulfilled, sexual desire which cannot be satiated and hatred which has no outlet except against oneself, the persons one is supposed to love, or the revolutionary aspirations of pitiful, poverty-stricken marginal societies like Cuba or Vietnam. The conditions of the Cold War have turned all modern societies - communist included - into vicious distorters of man's true potential." - Gary Snyder |
