Message | A charter school will often focus on a particular aspect of education, thus you can have fine arts schools, math and sciences, etc. This permits a greater level of detail in these areas as well as the ability to bring in better teachers for these subjects. A voice instructor is unlikely to be present in a general public school while most likely will be in one for performance. It is also true that this permits a focus on areas that these students tend to perform poorly in, for example those good in math and science tend to perform poorly in writing or speaking. Thus the schools can tailor the curriculum to the students better then your average school. These schools are part of the public education system thus are free for all students with the costs picked up by the taxpayers, or private industry. They tend to be allowed more freedom of operation then a typical public school. |

Message | sounds fair, are we setting an age range? do they start at the last four years of secondary school? |

Message | we suggest that the charter schools be for ages 14-18 (or 20) to ensure that they do obtain some degree of knowledge of other things. we support in any case. |

Message | we are not proposing an age range but rather leaving it to the local governments. Charter schools do not need to specialize they just typically do. Those for the lower grades do not tipcally specialize. There is just something unique about the school. They need not even be just a charter school, but can be a public/private one as well. OOC: Just to help understand, a gradeschool (K-6th grade) next to my house is a normal public school, but it does very well and has a mix of nationalities due to it being next to the university. Thus it is favored around town. For those who live out of the normal school district, some slots are made available and distributed by raffle. Thus it is both a charter school and a normal public school. |
