Bill: ARCHIVED OOC DISCUSSION: Sorting out the Civil War RP

Details

Submitted by[?]: Liberal Progressive Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: January 2384

Description[?]:

OK, this is a bit of a problem right now since sides are declaring conflicting things, in particular Angelis and the KFRNFF:
* Angelis claim full control over the region of Dirguzia.
* The KFRNFF claim full control over Dirguzia and Nuchtmark, imply control of Dirlana and are saying they are advancing into Uwakah.

Now, these claims aren't quite reasonable. Angelis, the KFRNFF started their junta in the streets of Cadoria. They advanced from Cadoria. So how is it right they don't have control over the centre of their 'empire'?

KFRNFF, I've made it clear Uwakah is the key stronghold for the rebellion, just like Nuchtmark is the key stronghold for the fascist regime. You're not going to get all the way into Uwakah, and you're not going to get completely through Dirlana.

Now, I made a map we can see in the Chronicle. If you can't see it for some reason, a summary:
*Dorvik are occupying the north-west of Uwakah.
*Leftist rebels are occupying Uwakah and much of Merkan, although forces in Merkan are scattered and there isn't too much in the way of men out of the mountains/forests on the border and the capital city.
*Angelis control the south of Dirguzia, centred at Chrisalya.
*The fascists militarily control Nuchtmark, north Dirguzia, are encroaching into border Merkan and are in western Dirlana from Nisira back (Nisira itself is divided).
*The fascists nominally control the west of Dirlana although no-one quite knows what's going on there.

Now, this is reasonable in my mind. It's going to change as the RP progresses, naturally, but I make my point there.

I ask you to please be reasonable in your RP. Read the Chronicle, see what other parties and nations have done since you last logged in. It's not just about winning - one side can lose and both sides can come away feeling pleased. So please, be careful with what you declare. Your uber 1337 army isn't going to pour over the entire nation in minutes, so just watch it, mmkay?

Oh, and while I'm here, recognise the circumstances here. Your party isn't going to flourish in the Fascist Empire of Kirlawa (as I am calling it for ease) if you're not the KFRNFF. Just because you 'win an election' for Head of State doesn't mean that the other side will recognise it or that everyone will go "Oh, look, we're/they're not Head of State anymore, so it's all over. Let's go dancing through the fertile Dirguzian meadows.". Try and keep some realism in here. We have some fairly experienced RPers in here - DFM's an old Barmenistaner, Angelis was one of the first on the forums from Kirlawa to do something - so let's just play well, not play to be 1337 c007 d00dz.

MessageThey sure did, eh?

And I think it's more realistic that we do it this way. You don't have Mussolini retiring after being overthrown to have a nice cup of tea and biscuits in Corsica.

MessageAs a note, it shall be announced shortly that a small Protestant paramilitary organisation is to be formed, nominally in Uwakah, as collaborationists, working with the Dorvikians, and in Nuchtmark, working with the fascists, mostly engaged in attacks on Catholics, and perhaps involved in any partisan/guerilla styl;e fighting behind the front lines. Arms have been provided from Dorvik and Luthori, as well as from a few police arsenals, as the Minister for Justice is a sympathizor. Although linked to some sections of the RPP, many members of the RPP will remain loyal to the government/democracy, and would be found in anti-fascist sections of society.

MessageThat seems fair enough. As a note, I posted the total figures for each party's maximum paramilitary in the Chronicle.

MessageThe Popular Militia are mainly in Merkan, helping the Dundorfians and trying to set up guerilla cells behind Fascist lines. The remainder will work with the Liberty Brigade in Uwakah

MessageOK, let me emphasis this. Just because Peter was 'voted out', means nothing at all. He's still Head of State in the fascist zone. The elections are really just showing the changing power of the parties - a status report really.

MessageI understand the HoS elections issue as well as the capitol conflict between RPs, and will now fix my RP in occupying southern Dirguzia.

MessageOK, as a note, I ask all parties to change their names depending on what of the three independent nations they'll be RPing presence in:
1) Free Union of Kirlawa
2) Fascist Imperial Empire of Kirlawa
3) Democratic Republic of Kirlawa

MessageOk, one has contacted the Dorvik government, and received a response from Chisem. The RPP shall formally disband soonish, due to the split within the party, and elements shall move to other parties in their respective regions. However a hardcore of the RPP, specifically in Dorvish Uwakah, but including others from around Kirlawa who have sought refuge in Dorvish controlled Uwakah, and Dorvik itself, shall form a collaborationist government in the Dorvish area. I intend to start rping on the forum, and I hope this will add some interest to what was once the RPP. I'll wait for Chisem to anounce this on the forum before formally resstablishing the party.

Random fact: Real-life quotations may be used in Particracy, but the real-life speaker or author should always be referenced in an OOC (out-of-character) note alongside the quotation.

Random quote: "The problem is big government. If whoever controls government can impose his way upon you, you have to fight constantly to prevent the control from being harmful. With small, limited government, it doesn't much matter who controls it, because it can't do you much harm." - Harry Browne
