MessageIF they charge unreasonable rates, customers will go elsewhere, like to another company, or even, just not use the phone.

Secondly, define unreasonable.

MessageWho's to say there'll be a viable alternative? A lack thereof should not prevent individuals from possessing a basic commodity such as telephone service. Even in instances where there are other options, it'll do no harm to place regulations, since they'll likely have no affect on business if these companies are already trying to win people over.

MessageYour argument lacks logical basis. You view a telephone service as a right, it is not, it is a privilege, thinking otherwise is ludicrous. If one company is acting like a monopoly and charging massive prices, then there is the opportunity for another company to enter the market and take away a lot of its customers.

If it will have no effect on businesses, then regulation is pointless and your arguments have no basis whatsoever.
