Message | I'm not so sure... like Liam said, we don't even recognize local ones! |

Message | But foreignors are different. We can choose whether or not to recognize local ones because they are our people, but immigrants are not, they are someone else's people untill they become a nationalized citizen. If another nation recognizes local marriages and their people come over here, then we should recognize their marriages also. |

Message | Marriage is a religious institution. Government is a secular institution. The two should NOT clash in any way. |

Message | It is not necessarily religious. In fact, many atheists marry every day. Also, it can be a sign of love, or whatever you want it to be. |

Message | "or whatever you want it to be." Good, I want it treated as a religious institution. |

Random fact: "Treaty-locking", or ratifiying treaties that completely or nearly completely forbid any proposals to change laws, is not allowed. Amongst other possible sanctions, Moderation reserves the discretion to delete treaties and/or subject parties to a seat reset if this is necessary in order to reverse a treaty-lock situation. |
Random quote: "Soldiers who are not afraid of guns, bombs, capture, torture or death say they are afraid of homosexuals. Clearly we should not be used as soldiers; we should be used as weapons." - Letter to the editor, the Advocate |
