Message | The current law already has lots of checks and balances in place to make sure a prospective adopter is suitable. If you look up under our nation's list of laws, under "The government's policy concerning adoption", our law is stated as "Adoption is strictly regulated by the government. Only by passing several tests and by following an intensive program applicants can adopt children". In view of this, we urge the Republicans to consider that what is at stake here is not how efficient the screening process if for choosing adopters. What is at stake is the fairness of the system in determining who is eligible to be considered as an adopter. |
