Voting deadline: April 2341
Description[?]:
We believe that the death penalty should be completely abolished. Solving a death with another death is not really solving any problems, in fact its doing the exact opposite. The death penalty should not be considered a punishment, its more like murder itself. |

Message | This is a law we've tried to get enacted for decades. Unfortuantly as long as the extreme right stays in power Gishoto will still commit state-approved murder. |
Date | 00:44:08, January 07, 2007 CET | From | Gao-Showa Imperial Party | To | Debating the Death Penalty Act |
Message | this is not an "extreme right" policy. It is conservative and it is sensible. The demand of the new left however are unrealistic and seems to often favour criminals. You are too ideological in your opinion of criminals and do not give enough thought to reality. |
Date | 12:50:44, January 07, 2007 CET | From | Refuge Pressure Party | To | Debating the Death Penalty Act |
Message | Reality states that the death penalty is not a detterent. Reality states that civilised countries do not lower themselves to the level of criminals. Reality states that state killings should be a matter reserved for war. The Death penalty is, and has always been, an extreme right, policy. It is ultra-conservative and not the least bit sensible. Criminal punishment holds four purposes. Protection of the public, rehabilitation, detterent and revenge. Jail achieves all four, execution only the first and the last. |

Random fact: Moderation will not accept Cultural Protocol updates which introduce, on a significant scale, cultures which are likely to be insufficiently accessible to players. In particular, for all significant cultures in Particracy, it should be easy for players to access and use online resources to assist with language translation and the generation of character names. Moderation reserves the right to amend Cultural Protocols which are deemed to have introduced significant cultures that are not sufficiently accessible and which are not being actively role-played with. |
