Bill: Agricultural Sense Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Maroon Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: April 2081
Description[?]:
Why would the government subsidize crops based on market demand? If demand for a crop is high, the price of that crop will increase, and farmers will already make more money and thus grow more of the crop. If the government subsidizes the crop further, then resources become misallocated as farmers grow the crop to beyond even the elevated level of market demand. Agriculture is the prime economic example of perfect market competition, and is the area of the economy where the government is least justified in interfering. |
