Bill: Military Reform Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Socialist Advancement League
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: May 2344
Description[?]:
Article 1 - It is important that the nation is correctly prepared to defend itself. The Government, individually creating specific buildings for defensive purposes, is disruptive and effective. The requirement for new public buildings to be built with defensive features means that, in times of war, we will be ready to defend ourselves while at the same time the burden on the tax payer is lessened. Article 2 - with the same defensive merits or article 1, article 2 aims at preparing people with the skills necessary to defend our nation in times of need. The training would also involve medical courses so that people could also be prepared for national disasters and the ilk. |

Message | Could we be? The region is currently coming out of major civil unrest, with certain factions forming a politically imperialist and militarist stance. The unrest also saw foreign entities entering our nation with their armed forces. If the defensive structures are seperate from the main building, then during a bombing raid it could prove much more dangerous for people to find adequate shelter. Surely, if they're incorporated into the buildings original design, it will cut down the time it takes for people to find cover. Also, the cost of defensive features would not fall solely on the Government. I'm sure you fiscal conservatives would love the idea that the tax payers money is being saved. |

Message | We are convinced. This is a reasonable measure which will make Kirlawa safer in the event of another major war. |

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play". |
