Bill: Compassion Act
Details
Submitted by[?]: Enlightened Socialist Party
Status[?]: passed
Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.
Voting deadline: November 2083
Description[?]:
The ESP believes that, as we are an increasingly rich and prosperous nation with one of the highest standards of living in the world, that we should give some aid to poorer nations in need (ensuring that it goes directly into helpful projects like schools, wells, etc). Currently we only help disasters, and whilst this is all well and good, disaster is more than sudden event. Millions die of malaria and water posioning every year in Africa, and we can help that stop. |

Message | The party believes that the private sector handles this better by actually going and helping those in need. Throwing money, especially to despotic nations, keeps the cash at the top, furthering corruption, hurting tax payers and doing little to help those who need it. We currently oppose. |

Message |
We should give some aid to poorer nations in need (ensuring that it goes directly into helpful projects like schools, wells, etc).
Ensuring that it goes directly into helpful projects like schools, wells, etc. Not 'throwing money at despotic nations'. And the private sector has NO DESIRE TO HELP ANYTHING BUT IT'S WALLET. They want these countries poor and downtrodden because they can make more money from them that way. We urge all to support helping people who die - is not disease and poison killing millions every year a disaster? |
Date | 14:31:47, July 16, 2005 CET | From | Commercial Freedom | To | Debating the Compassion Act |
Message | We agree, to make sure we don't spend money on funding corrupt governments we can give the money to known charity organisations. Once again, we strongly agree. |

Message | Shall this be brought to the vote? |

Message | Yes it should. |
Date | 03:45:00, July 19, 2005 CET | From | freedom party | To | Debating the Compassion Act |
Message | The desire to line its own pockets is not a unique attribute of companies. Its a attribute of man. Government is no less corruptable. |
