Bill: Impeach the Green Coalition

Details

Submitted by[?]: Dorvish Popular Front

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2343

Description[?]:

Despite overwhelming support from the Senate for the Sterk government, the Green Coalition has used its position as Defence Minister to attack it. The Green Coalition is reckless and not accountable to the Senate. It forms policy unilaterally and must be stopped. This bill calls for the Green Coalition to resign their cabinet posts. They are using their power illegally and unconstitutionally.

MessageThe Prime Minister today asked the President to declare a national television freeze for the PM to address the nation on every channel.
The President granted this request and at five O'clock this evening flanked by Health Secretary Amy Underlodge and Trade and Industry Secretary Horace Todd, the Prime Minister announced his refusal to work any longer with the foreign secretary......

Quote:
Foreign Secretary Ralf Hutter claims that a coup is underway in the Region of Dorvik Uwakah. However it is becoming increasingly evident that the real coup is being staged here in Dorvik under the leadership of Mr. Hutter himself and leaders of the Military. Military action was taken against the Government of Mirjam Sterk who was in the process of been fully endorsed by the Senate and Madame President Watterson herself. This action was taken with no consultation of the cabinet, myself as Prime Minister or even the commander in chief, President Vivien Watterson.
Taking decisions above his station has shown the world what a power hungry man the Foreign Secretary has become and how little he cares about protocol or democracy.
To claim that the government of Mirjam Sterk is illegal is ludicrous as she is clearly supported by the people of Uwakah and a majority of the Dorvish Senate wish to see her in power.
People have been killed in the illegal action that General Friedrich Papen and Ralf Hutter authorised, including innocent Dorvish soldiers. I urge the President to Strip Mr. Hutter of his office and that enquiry be posed to try the General and secretary for war crimes.
The current coalition is no longer workable and in line with the NPP, all ACPD members of the cabinet have resigned their posts today at the Presidents office.
I have served this nation as Prime Minister for many years now and it grieves me to leave the nation in such a precarious situation, however all powers of the offices unattended go to the president and i trust fully that she will carry the nation through this constitutional crisis.
God bless Dorvik

MessageA coup can never be described as democratic. A coup trancends democratic protocol and as such we do not recognise it as such. Ms.Sterk used the military to enforce her own will without consulting the electorate, we were in our justified limits to remove her and restore representative democracy.

We would like to ask the ACPD on what correspondence they find between the coup and principles of liberty? The PENDING endoresement of a coup by the senate does not interest us, the people of D.Uwakah should decide who governs them. This is why we acted.

The Foreign Ministry, Defence Ministry and Chief of Staff agreed the action. I would like to point out that THE PRESIDENT DOES NOT ACT AS COMMANDER IN CHIEF (Page 11 Dorvik News):

Quote:
"Presidential Role as C in C is abolished

The Presidential Role of acting as the Commander in Chief of Dorvish Armed Forces has been abolished after many senior military and state officials complained that this was a dangerous situation which could threaten to politicize the Defence Force.

As a result it has been agreed that until further constitutional changes are made, The Chief of Staff shall act as C in C.

*Chief of Staff (Acting C in C): Marshall of Dorvik Klaus Bremen *"

If Ms.Sterk was supported by the majority of the population then why did she not SEEK THEIR APPROVAL? Why did her party secure 4% of the vote in recent elections

MessageALSO: THE LEGION OF TERRA UNITS ARE IN THE DORVISH MILITARY, NOT THE UWAKAHN MILITARY. THEY HAD DISOBEYED ORDERS AND ACTED ON THEIR OWN ACCORD, THUS WE DEALT WITH THEM ACCORDINGLY.

This is exactly what you did! You may criticise her for launching a coup etc etc, but you did exactly the same. Not only did you not consult the electorate, you blatantly ignored and contradicted their wishes in the form of Senate backing for the Sterk government. Furthermore the Rildanor thingy of conflict thingys states the HoS or HoG must be involved in some form.

MessageWe did before the elections, and seeing as the parties that voted yes still hold over 50% there is no reason to believe that this would change.
