| The death penalty is barbaric: its very premise is hypocritical and based on revenge, not justice. Not only that, but a miscarriage of justice will have chilling results, and the death penalty is a failure at deterrence. No civilised society can claim to show justice to those it executes. Be it therefore resolved, that state-sanctioned murder should be outlawed. |
