| The firm stance of the Moderates is that the current conscription service is the best option for the formation of the armed forces of Dorvik when looking the cost-effectiveness relation and current demands of global politics. In the armed forces, men and women learn many important skills such as first aid, self-discipline, how to survive in nature & extreme conditions, organizational and leadership skills amongst many other things and create strong bond of comradeship with their service companions. However, the National Service should be an alternative for those who have some physical handicap, have specific active religious background (meaning the ones whose religion forbids the use of arms) and those who don't simply want to serve the country at the military at all. National service men & women are needed in civil sector such as at schools & hospitals in the times of peace too and also in the tasks of civilian protection, volunteer fire brigades and constructing defences during war time, to name a few. We need high quality soldiers who especially have high service morale and those who don't have it, may and are encouraged to choose the national service. Otherwise these same people just cause trouble in the military and make the job of the officers & NCO's harder. This bill will also bring the whole nation closer together, bringing unity. |
