Message | As opposed as we are to religious superstition, and as much as we desire to discourage it, we cannot support this measure. We wish to discourage people from practicing religion; but in the end, we accept their right to practice it if our efforts to discourage them are unsatisfactory to persuade the people to avoid such superstition. We will not vote yes on this proposal; although abstaining, due to a current religious-friendly policy in the nation that we would not wish to defend either, remains a possibility of which our caucus is debating the merits. |
