Whig Leader Resigns
After recent election losses the Whig party leader, sir Robert Walpole has resigned at the age of 102. After decades of hard work creating the Whigs he has "decided to have a well earned rest from the political scene". The resignation of Sir Rober Walpole has shocked many of the older Whigs, but many of the younger Whigs believe that the time is right for change, the work of Sir Robert will always be appreciated and remembered. He is said to be leaving his successor Lucious Malvero the Ripley Castle estate as the perminant base for the Whigs.
The new leader Lucious Malvero is not the obvious choice for the leadership of a left leaning party. He is reported to be a brutal character who lets nobody get in his way. It is rumoured that he was one of the plotters who managed to destroy the United Workers Union by spreading confusion and lies amongst their ranks. Little was gained from the loss of the party, only that their was one less party to stand in the way.
Captain Hector Barbossa, a good friend of the new party leader has expressed his joy at the appointment, "he is the man who shall lead us forward into a brighter future, he will win us the prize we desire. Let enemies of the Whigs beware, Lucious is not known for tolerance and patience."
As yet no other parties have expressed an opinion on the announcement, but we can expect much criticism from the Whig opponents, but perhaps a pat on the back from the more right-wing parties.
In the coming weeks we shall see what path the new leader chooses for his party.
