DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC OF ALORIA PRESS RELEASE: Moderate Libertarian Party (MLP) Foreign Affairs Chairman Peter Hunt announced the Executive Branch's official national policy stance regarding internationalism/foreign affairs:
1. The republic will no longer involve itself in ANY international military affairs/efforts that do not directly involve it as a direct threat to the nation.
2. The republic will NOT participate in ANY international military affairs/efforts without an official declaration of war from parliament.
3. The republic will no longer involve itself in ANY peacekeeping iniatives/emergency interventions of other nations without a declaration of parliament.
4. The republic will approach international agreements not related to peaceful, voluntary governmental trade/commerce in a reserved and cautious fashion.
5. The republic will encourage (but not subsidize) private industry in endeavours related to voluntary, peaceful free trade/commerce.
6. The republic will promoted streamlined and responsible immigration based on individual merit and personal contribution potential to the nation.
7. The republic will offer limited screened political refugees citizenship contingent on a review of criminal background, individual merit and contribution potential (as defined in #6 above). Said refugees will be expected to find work but will received brief, minimal integration assistance as needed.
8. The republic will maintain policies of foreign investors being limited to no more that 50% of domestic business shares/ownership;
9. The republic will maintain regular policies of background checks and prior governmental approval for both the establishment of foreign embassies and religious/spiritual missionaries.
10. The republic will continue policies against torture and the deportation of illegals, refugees and legal aliens and citizens to countries utilizing torture.
11. The republic will stop any and all intelligence agencies covert operations save in instances and against nations that directly threaten the nation.
12. The republic will approve both public and private sector international arms sales prior to transaction with the emphasis on limited trade of said arms even with "friendly" nations.Signed,
