With the legislative term coming to an end, Prime Minister Kurt Burret of the Progressive Conservative Party issued a statement today commending members of Parliament for their hard work over the past three years. The Progressive Conservatives in the legislature, under Burret's leadership, pursued an ambitious legislative agenda that included bills on a variety of controversial political issues such as taxes, welfare, campaign finance, and abortion. At the beginning of the legislative term, the Progressive Conservatives formed a coalition with President Rodriguez's party, the APP, that proved to be extremely effective at passing a wide range of legislation.
While there was some speculation that the Progressive Conservatives would not run a candidate in the upcoming presidential election against President Rodriguez, they have decided to run their Party Leader Luis Rubio. Rubio narrowly lost to President Rodriguez in the 4343 elections. He has advocated on the campaign trail for the Progressive Conservatives to focus on reforming labor and healthcare laws during the upcoming session.Signed,
