Description[?]:
The Leftpopulist Party supports a broadly left-wing version of Populism. Standing strong for regular workers throughout the nation, we support an end to career politicians. Our ideal politician: Someone working 20 years as a cashier in a store, as a farmer on a small family farm, or in a mine, then 4-8 years as an elected representative fighting for better working conditions then right back to where they worked before. A Citizen-Politician instead of the typical politicians that are too often removed from the struggles of regular Baltusians. On the Issues: We support a strong national government free of foes both foreign and domestic. We support personal liberties - what happens between consenting adults is no business of the State. We favor a balanced approach between the environment and our industries. Pollution should be controlled but not to the degree that it destroys millions of jobs. We are firm internationalists and wish to work together with nations that share our principles of freedom and democracy. Markets should function in a form of petite-bourgeois basis with small companies and small family farms getting support from the state whilst large multinationals are heavily taxed to help level the playing field and keep a sustainable variant of Capitalism alive. We strongly support a defensive armed forces whilst maintaining amicable and peaceful relations with all. Diplomacy should come first, defensive war remains an absolute last resort. Progressive Social Policies, a woman's right to choose, marriage rights for all consenting adults, trans rights, etc. A strongly secular state. Religion is seen as a danger to peace in the world and should be gradually stamped out as superstition. Instead we wish people to support humanist principles and support each other for the betterment of this world - not an afterlife. |

Random quote: "Who are the militia? Are they not ourselves? Is it feared, then, that we shall turn our arms each man gainst his own bosom. Congress have no power to disarm the militia. Their swords, and every other terrible implement of the soldier, are the birthright of an American...[T]he unlimited power of the sword is not in the hands of either the federal or state governments, but, where I trust in God it will ever remain, in the hands of the people." - Tenche Coxe |
