Description[?]:
The Democratic Reform Party, founded March 4434 is a neolibertarian party that believes in greater social and economic freedom for its citizens. It believes in subcontraction and subsidisation of industry to private companies in order to provide services to citizens free of charge, whilst maintaining the high quality services Mordusians deserve. The party was founded by Chester Fayette, a former corporate lawyer, who felt disillusioned with the lack of freedom given to both companies and citizens in Mordusia by the socially conservative Establishment. In creating the party he called for the return of Mordusia to the people and the creation of a neolibertarian state. Leaders of the Democratic Reform Party: 4434 - Present: Chester Fayette DRP Presidential Nominee: 4437: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Factions of the DRP: Although informal, most members are signed up to a faction within the party as they help with campaigning and getting nominated. Currently there are three factions within the party: - Real Libertarian Group (RLG) The RLG was set up by Foreign Affairs spokesperson, Sebastien Desjardins in response to the creation of other factions which differed to founder, Chester Fayette's ideology (Fayette himself refused to join a faction). Supporting unwavering neolibertarianism, the faction upholds Fayette's politics, and supports total social and economic freedom from government. - Social Libertarian Group (SLG) More left-leaning than most of the other members of the party, this group is led by Antoine Thomas. Prioritising social liberalism, the SLG are willing to restrict some market freedom if it expands the freedom of the individual. - Pragmatist Alliance (PA) The PA is the libertarian-conservative faction of the party. Whilst still maintaining the government has no right to dictate a person's private life, PA members believe that a more moral society is a result of giving people these freedoms. The PA is led by party lawyer and member, Sophie Bernard. |
