| The Liberaal-Radicale Partij or simply, Liberalen is a centrist political parties rooted in the liberal and radical traditions. The Liberalen prefer rational policy-making and are considered an intellectual party with capabilities to cooperation with other larger political parties. The Liberaal-Radicale Partij defends market economics while respecting the existence of a welfare state and a certain regulation while emphasising the desirability of public-private cooperation in most services. Socially, the LRP is social liberal and supports euthanasia, abortion until the 4th month, abolition of death penalty and torture and stands behind gay and minority rights and commends gender equality although it does not believe in forcing positive discrimination onto private entities. LRP desires a more specialized education system and rejects comprehensive secondary education. |
