First Declaration of the Citizens of Barmenistan BARMENISTAN THRIVES, EACH MAN FREE (Lofrkad trzy Rímsa) We, the people of Barmenistan, do join together in brotherhood to ensure every proud citizen's liberty. May every person be able to pursue his own path in life, and may no other person infringe upon that liberty. We forged our national government to ensure these rights to each citizen, and we enumerate these responsibilities as The Tasks of Governance. _____BILL OF RIGHTS Freedom of Person and Property Freedom of Speech and Press Freedom of Religious Expression Freedom to Peacably Assemble Freedom to Bear Arms Freedom to Protect One's Life In Threat of Deadly Force Freedom from Cruel and Unusual Punishment Freedom to Form Organizations or Endeavours The Government shall make no law that acknowledges race, ethnicity, gender, sexual orientation, or age _____To maintain the operation of the national government To create and oversee elections of the Parliament. To create and oversee elections for the office of the President. To create the office of Chancellor, who shall be appointed by the Parliament to embody the spirit of the nation. To create the Cabinet, who shall be appointed by Parliament to represent national Departments. To create the Treasury, who shall be appointed by Parliament to mint the national currency, collect an income tax on the earnings of individuals and business, and oversee the transaction of securities and exchanges. To create a Supreme Court, who will be appointed by Senate to lifetime terms and shall be the highest authority of legal matters. _____To provide for the safety and security of each citizen: A Police Department, to maintain order, prevent and detect crime, and enforce the laws. A Civil Service Department, to provide for the maintenance and creation of roads and highways on public property; and to detect and stop the spread of fire, flood, or natural disaster. A Justice Department, to give fair trial by a jury of one's peers to any man who would commit or abet theft, physical assault, threat, or fraud; to determine and implement reasonable bail, fine, or prison sentence; to give fair trial by jury to the redress of grievances; and to oversee the operation of government. A Healthcare Department, to regulate the operation of hospitals and determine standards for food and drug safety. An Education Department, to provide optional education for every child in Language, Mathematics, Science, History, and Civics, at no cost and to provide a system of free libraries. A Welfare Department, to ensure the wellbeing and protection of children and invalids; to provide food and shelter to individuals living in poverty; and to provide basic Unemployment cheques to adults actively seeking employment. A Volunteer Military, to protect our nation from outside threat. _____To protect and preserve natural resources: A Park Department, to support the creation and preservation of publically-owned nature reserves. A Wildlife Department, to ensure the preservation of endangered species, and to ensure the basic well-being of pets, livestock, and zoo animals, and to establish hunting and fishing quotas on public property. An Ecology Deparment, to regulate the harmful creation of pollutants. |
