Description[?]:
The Mulierum Coalitio (Women's Coalition) was founded by a group of committed Selucian feminists at a meeting in Aurora on 7th November 3841. As women, we feel the need to organise a women's political movement in response to the failure of the patriarchal elite to tackle the challenges modern Selucia faces. These include gender inequality, widespread social injustice, religious conflict, the degradation of our environment, the coarsening of our society, violence and the increasing lurch towards militarisation and war. Every day it grows more and more apparent that only the influence of the good Selucian womenfolk can save our nation from self-destruction and calamity. Our first and current leader, Tiberia Nemetoria Hybrida, hails from the noble Nemetorius family and is a renowned feminist historian and theologian. For many years, she has been a leading figure in the campaign for the ordination of women in the Selucian Patriarchal Church. She has also campaigned for the Church to soften its stance on certain issues, such as abortion and homosexuality. The WC reaches out to Selucian women of all backgrounds, although it tends to be dominated by those from more privileged backgrounds. A majority of members are also Hosians, although most of these take a fairly liberal and secular-minded approach to their faith. |
