Parti Ouvrier d'Aldurie are a left wing party committed to the emancipation of the working class and the common ownership of the means of production. Formerly a small Metzist-Kaminskist movement, the party came to power in 5292 in the political chaos which followed the collapse of the elected government. The party's stated aim is to establish a Workers' State. Following 5292 a New Republic was declared by President Paul Guesde and General Secretary of the Central Committee Charles Brousse. Party Symbol: The Red Rooster Factions: Democratic Socialists (left) - This faction takes an evolutionary approach to socialism, seeking to expand and develop the influence and power of the working class within existing political structures. Metzist-Kaminskists (far left) - This faction believes in proletarian internationalism and supporting socialist and revolutionary struggles abroad. Believing socialism can only be truly secured by developing an industrial and military base at home in order that struggles of liberation abroad my be supported and succeed. |
