Description[?]:
The Democratic Labour Party adheres to the principles of democratic socialism, striving for a free, democratic and socially just society, opposing nationalism and xenophobia. It generally backs socially liberal views. It supports government ownership of large industries relevant to the general wellbeing of the people, such as energy, banks and natural resources, and a tax-funded welfare state. It is opposed to high military expenditures, preferring to spend the money on public services instead, and wants to restrict weapons production as much as possible. It is a strong proponent of environment protection, citing the environment as amongst the most important issues of the party, and favours decentralized government, believing that more decision-making should be left to the regions rather than the main government. |
