Description[?]:
The CID party is a confederation of progressive, liberal churches and religious organizations that appeal to the working class. Although representative of a broad spectrum of progressive politics, it's main focus is on worker self-management and christian social responsibility. Bringing democracy to the workplace is seen as key to creating a just and more equal society, and an equal society brings us closer to Christ's teachings.. .It is a party dedicated to the idea of economic choice, representation and solidarity. Economic choice meaning the ability to effect the economy as a participating member of a democracy. People should be able to choose the degree of government involvement in their livelihoods. For example whether the government should provide health care, mandate workplace decision making, public ownership of certain industries, set rules and regulations of business practices, and foremost, the use of taxes and public funds. Economic representation means that all members of a democracy, regardless of class, should have equal say in decision making. Working class and poor neighborhoods should be fairly represented in local government, and national government They should have the means to communicate openly with the government, and form free associations without fear of repression. A large part of this idea is the establishment of a legal system which does not disadvantage the poor in how it operates, and involve employees in the decision making of their workplace. Economic solidarity means that people should cooperate across cultural, religous, gender, and ethnic identities to bring democracy to the workplace. One must share their livelihoods with many different people, and it is only by collective cooperation and struggle that the ideal of a democratic workplace can be achieved. This one is of special importance to Greater Hulstria, in that the party reaches out to other similar organizations found in it's colonial holdings and territories. Aware that Hulstria has been a predominately conservative, protestant country, the CID party hopes to appeal to the Catholic minority and other liberal churches who feel marginalized by more mainstream christian politics. |
