Details
Nation[?]: Dorvische Republik (Dorvik)
Seats[?] in Staatsrat (State Council)[?]: 0
Color[?]:
Description[?]:
The Liberalism-Republican Party, though relatively new and small, has grand ideas for Dorvik. Based upon the ideology of Republicanism and classical Liberalism, the Party pursues an immense platform. The LR Party traces its roots back to the early Greek and Roman statesmen whom developed the idea of the Republic. We also credit the ideas of John Locke, The American Founding Fathers (most notably Paine and Jefferson). *We believe in a medium-sized government. The States and Government must work hand in hand, for the Republic to continue and prosper. *Moderate government powers. As Adam Smith states that the government's responsibilities are: "1.)Protecting the society from the violence and invasion of other independent societies...which can only be performed by means of a military force" 2.) "protecting, as far as possible, every member of the society from the injustice or oppression of every other member of it..." 3.) "erecting and maintaining those public institutions and those public works, which...though most advantageous...are such that the profit could never repay the expense to any individual or small group of individuals." *Primary and Secondary schooling should be available to all. Private vouchers should be distributed to lower class families, so that they may have an equal oppritunity in attending Private schools. *A seperation of Church and State. *Freedom and equality for all men, despite race, creed, color, and religious views. *Supremecy of the Dorvik constitution as the law of the land, and maintains a strict interpretation of it. *Checks and Balances amongst the branches of government. *Limitation of powers given to the Executive Branch. *Moderate taxation. |
