The Kirlawan Unity Party (KUP) is a young political party based in it's formation to bring new ideas to the government. Among these ideas are focuses on Small Government with an interest in delineating more powers to the provinces. In effect, encouraging greater popular sovereignty. The KUP has a strong foundation in several religious ideologies. This fact does lead the KUP to oppose Euthanasia and Abortion as well as Capital Punishment. In most other social matters the KUP feels that the local governments should make judgments with the national government ensuring fundamental civil liberties. In domestic issues, the focus of the KUP is to facilitate economic progress and industrial development, so that citizens are given all the tools to care for their wellbeing and that of their families. As such, the KUP is opposed to most nationalized services, as frequently it adds to corruption and waste of resources. The KUP hopes to facilitate the conveyance of discussion and debate transparently to the people, so that the people can make their own political decisions, and as such the KUP is in support of regulating media to ensure that more facts and less opinions are relayed through the mediums. As far as non-informative matters, the KUP is in favor of less regulation of media content. The KUP believes in avoiding war, however should war occur believes in authorizing most actions to protect the citizens of Kirlawa. In contrast, the KUP is against the development or proliferation of biological or chemical weapons. |
