Description[?]:
Party believes in small but responsible government. The private industry and free market should be able to take the course of the economy to decide our economic strength, with little government interference, though the government reserves the right to intervene in times of crisis. We adamantly believe in free education and free healthcare as being the government's primary mandates; the people are our responsibility and we were elected to serve them. The government should pursue a strong Foreign Policy, with a strong and modern military. The Military should remain under the direct authority of the government however be given leash to pursue objectives without worry of extreme political intervention defeating them in the field. We advance a platform of moderate economic policy, noting that free enterprise must decide the course of markets, but government must be equipped to intervene should these private industries fail. We are for a strong policy of national defense and security. We advocate for a strong foreign policy that furthers the interests of the Jelbanian people, and strives to promote for international cooperation and development. We advocate tirelessly for the worker. Our policy is based on the tenants that collectivism is better than individualism, co-operation is better than competition, reason is better than passion, community is better than atomisation, morality is better than permissiveness, compassion is better than cruelty, sustainability is better than convenience and tolerance is better than prejudice. We recognise the dignity and infinite value of every human, and aim for egalitarian social justice, knowing that the only way we can have a just and dignified society is one where true, co-operative democracy exists. - Civil liberties - Environmental safeguards - Central governance - Market Regulation - Separation of Church and State The Democratic-Republican Party serves but one purpose and that is the restoration and protection of democracy and representative government here in Solentia. We believe in the protection of civil liberties and the free exercise of ones natural rights. We believe in the protection of the environment, but that it is best protected by local governments having jurisdiction over their own lands. We believe in peaceful intercourse with other nations and believe that Solentia should stay out of entangling alliances. We believe that the government is commissioned to provide basic services that would not otherwise be provided by private enterprises and entities. We believe that a free market is one that functions most efficiently, although we also see a need to be socially responsible in regards to those in need. We believe that the government should maintain a strictly defensive military and that war should only occur if our homeland is invaded or if another nation poses a credible and substantial military threat. We believe that morality is a personal choice and should be left as such. We believe that religion should be separate from the state so as not to favor one religion over another and to protect the freedom of religion. |
