Description[?]:
The Orange Alliance The Orange Alliance was formed in 3675 under the leadership of renowned academic Sarojini Kumal. Her speech to a gathering of nearly 5000 people at Fairfax University, Dorvan, outlined clearly the purpose and policy of the newest party to Dorvik’s political scene... “My friends and supporters, Over the past decades we have seen our nation slip and sway under one party rule and economic lunacy. We have seen the government grow in power and the economy falter. We have seen the social fabric of this once great nation soiled by liberal ideas and unethical legislation. This parliament has introduced no new legislation and meets at the expense of the public with no accountability from the only minor party in the nation. It is my vow to you, as the leader of the Orange Alliance, to bring the voice of the people back into the seats of this democracy. I promise that we will stand against the foolishness and greed of the one party system. I promise that we will fight to open the doors of opportunity to private enterprise and individual achievement. I promise that whether the Orange Alliance holds 1 seat or 200 seats, we will act in the interests of the people who entrust us to be here. We will be strong in our resolve to return this nation to its greatness of the past, I will try to emulate the great Presidents of old, Samuel P. Watterson, Joseph Trent, Vivien Watterson and many others who wore their conservative colours with pride and stood strong against the selfish agenda of other parties. A vote for this party is a vote for hope, and a vote for hope can never fail to achieve results. God Bless Dorvik.” Policy targets for the forthcoming term - Reduction of term limits. - Re-introduction of the titles of President and Prime Minister for the Head of State and Head of Government respectively. - Win enough seats to be a viable voice of opposition. - The repatriation of the nation’s capital to Fairfax, Dorvan. - Euthanasia to be illegalised. - Energy, banking and transport sectors to be privatised. - Less government control over advertising. - More private investment in higher education. - Legal representation spending to be slashed. - Removal of the vote from prisoners past and present. - Adoption to be legal only for same-sex couples - Greater tree planting and a ban on more than one car per household. - Whaling to be illegalised. Random fact: In cases where a party has no seat, the default presumption should be that the party is able to contribute to debates in the legislature due to one of its members winning a seat at a by-election. However, players may collectively improvise arrangements of their own to provide a satisfying explanation for how parties with no seats in the legislature can speak and vote there. |
Random quote: "I bet their mothers don't love them. Many Trigunian women are so cold. I mean it's a racist hellhole in parts." - Tirza Sommer, former Dorvish politician |
