Description[?]:
Valruzian Civic Reform Party (VCRP) Established May 4029 Chairman: Miroslaw Czerniewicz (4029-present) Deputy Chairman: Dr Tomasz Szczesny (4030-4034) Karina Kraszewska (4034-presen) Secretary-General: Dominik Legerski (4029-present) Presidents of Valruzia from the ranks of VCRP: Karina Kraszewska (4030-4033) Political position: Right-wing Ideology: - National Conservatism - Economic liberalism - Right-wing populism Factions: - Liberal conservatism - Right-Libertarianism - Monarchism - Civic nationalism On the issues: - Social policy: VCRP typically espouses socially conservative rhetoric, embracing Hosian values, an orderly society, law and order, traditional institutions, patriotism and authority. However, in practice, the party has consistently voted against far-reaching "moralistic" legislation seeking to impose a code of conduct on individuals, arguing that conservative values should be grounded in civil society rather than decreed by government legislation. VCRP is alco somewhat incoherent on the issue of homosexuality, frequently indulging in gay-baiting but rarely actually backing anti-LGBT-legislation. - Economic and fiscal policy: VCRP supports a free market order, deregulation, privatization and private property. It seeks to curb union influence through repressive measures such as strike bans and other restrictions on organized labour. VCRP is frequently described as the political arm of oligarchs and moneyed interests. Despite its classically liberal agenda, it is prone to favoritism and corporatist intervention if deemed opportune. With regards to fiscal policy, VCRP claims to support a balanced budget but has allowed the deficit to greatly increase while in office, supporting large spending increases across the board. - Environment: VCRP believes that there should be little to no regulation of industrial pollution and does not believe in governmental standards for animal welfare. It is supportive of conventional farming, hunting, fishing and private ownership of forests and land. - Immigration: VCRP rejects open borders, but would allow qualified immigrants to enter Valruzia for economic reasons such as the demand of corporations for foreign labour. It is opposed to taking in refugees and generally calls for cutting all aid and welfare to immigrants as well as reducing civil rights for foreigners. - Foreign policy: VCRP is seen as isolationist, opposing foreign aid and military intervention. The party believes that government should focus on Valruzian citizens and not bother to get involved in foreign affairs except for promoting trade and assisting corporate interests abroad. - Military: VCRP calls for large increases in military spending, but wants to restrict the military's role to defending the homeland. It endorses making all kinds of weapons available to the armed forces and is open to using the military for the purpose of policing. While VCRP is seen as receptive towards the interests of soldiers and generals, it opposes mandatory service and believes that military careers should be a personal choice. |
