Description[?]:
This party seeks the establishment of the Kingdom of Hutori and of the enthronement of Horatio, head of the House of Daschner on the grounds of his historical claim to the title. The claim arises from the event known to historians as 'The Boat Boys'. In the early 14th century, Petty King Oswulf of Adleby, an area which is believed to span from Adelia to Roccato, died. The succession laws of the time meant that Oswulf's infant sons, Ago and Saxo, were to share the remains of a fractured kingdom, with Ago keeping the primary title held by his father. This was all well and good, but the threat to the boys' lives was substantial. Many people attempted to seize the opportunity to kill the boys and press their own claims, legitimate or not. Seeing this, their regent, and well meaning uncle, Bengt sent the boys off to live with relatives (in the area now referred to as Luthori) via a royal longboat and assumed the throne. The boat was attacked somewhere off of the coast of Davostan by mercenaries and the boat was thought to be lost, the boys with it. New findings, however, point to the idea that the boys were not killed, but that they survived the attack. Evidence of parts of the royal longboat shipwreck were discovered by divers from the Daschner Historical Society as far as Dorvik where it is believed that the boys, and some servants or perhaps slaves, found themselves after clinging to a set of barrels and various pieces of shipwreck. It is thought that the party survived off of the contents of the barrels. Skeletal remains found near the aforementioned barrels were DNA tested and confirmed to be that of Saxo and some servants. They are thought to have succumbed to the coldness of the icy waters. Despite much labour, no other remains could be found. It is thought that Ago along with the surviving servants, using the gold that travelled with them in a barrel, assumed new identities and went on to set up one of the largest banking families in terra, the Daschners. Recent DNA and dental testing confirmed that Ago, who was buried in a tomb (now the family tomb) is a direct ancestor of Horatio Daschner, the current head of the dynasty and that the remains found off of the coast are directly related to Ago. With regards to the claim, Bengt became King, however, he married matrilineally into the bloodline of the Steuarts through Anne II, consequently, his titles were inherited by her dynasty as opposed to being passed back to the boys upon their coming of age. Given that a true heir did, in fact, survive, Horatio Daschner asserts that the Kingdom of Hutori should exist and that, as a direct descendant, he should be crowned its King. This party, financed by Horatio and his family, seeks to make those assertions a reality. |
