Description[?]:
The Pirate Party, was founded as an 'independent political association' in January 4440, to participate in the April elections of that same year, where they won 54 seats, and 7% of the votes; although its origin comes from the NGO pirates without borders and from a web page, where you could find contents, and download them completely free of charge, and the objective was to create a space where people shared the contents. The current general secretary of the party is Birgitta Jónsdóttir, ex-deputy local in Hitam by a localist party, to make the city sustainable; (She resigned from office, after her party supported a motion to support the Soviet republic, since in her opinion that was not the role that the citizens had entrusted to her). She belonged for a long time to different NGOs, and has collaborated in international diplomacy, and the protection of human rights actively during the last 38 years. The party's proposals are direct democracy, liquid democracy, freedom of expression, freedom of information, social rights, citizen participation, reformism and the right to internet and information. Birgitta Jónsdóttir, will be the candidate elected for the next elections after being elected with 59% of the votes in the "þing" (name that was given to the old Viking assemblies, and that has been adopted by the pirate party, as a name for their national congresses). |
