Created in Jan 4803, the Badaran Forces Alliance is a broad based collection of political, economic, and social interests looking to rebuild Badara. The party mostly represents established business and professional interests and is broadly antagonistic to most unions, political radicals, revolutionaries, and other leftists. The BFA is composed of the following political parties: - Liberal People's Party (center; urban voters) - Badaran Progressive Front (center-left; urban voters) - Democratic Party of Badara (center; rural and urban voters) - Free Badaran Party (center-right; rural voters) - Ahmadi Awakening Party (right; religious and rural voters) - Northern Political Alliance (a separate grouping of parties representing the interests of the three provinces on the northern island) -- Northern Renaissance Party (right; rural voters) -- Party of Unity and Development (center-right; rural and business voters) -- Fairness and Justice Party (right; rural and religious voters) -- Alliance of Republicans (center; urban voters) Affiliated Business Groups: - Badaran Chamber of Commerce and Industry - North Badaran Alliance of Businessmen - Conference of Ahmadi Commerce - Badaran Industrial Development Organization - Badaran Petrol Institute Affiliated social, cultural, and think tanks: - Modern Badara Institute (center) - Organization of Ahmadi Neighbors and Charities (right) - Center for International Badaran Relations (center) - People's Foundation for a New Era (center-left) - Free Exchange Society (center) - Rural Interests Alliance (right) - General Convention of Badaran Hosians Organizational Structure: The main organ of the Alliance is the General Convention which consists of representatives selected by the appropriate parties after they hold their own congresses/conventions. Presently the General Convention consists of the following: - Liberal People's Party (25 members) - Badaran Progressive Front (35 members) - Democratic Party of Badara (60 members) - Free Badaran Party (50 members) - Ahmadi Awakening Party (60 members) - Northern Political Alliance (90 members) Total: 320 members; there are an additional 80 seats (non-voting) reserved for affiliated NGO's to participate in discussions The Convention meets every five years to review Alliance business and elect new officers as needed. In-between conventions the Steering Committee handles any relevant Convention business. The Steering Committee consists of 1 representative per party, except for the NPA which gets three spots, one for each of its constituent parties. More important however for the Alliance is the Central Coordinating Committee (CCC) which handles the administrative and executive affairs of the Alliance. The CCC consists of 75 members elected by the Convention every five years. The CCC is further divided as follows: - Executive Bureau (EXBURO): 13 member group consisting of high ranking party officers, responsible for the strategic direction and control of the Alliance - Political Bureau (POLITBURO): responsible for coordinating campaigns, political activities, and liaising with affliated social and business groups |
