Nation[?]: Republic of Beluzia (Beluzia)
Color[?]:
Description[?]:
The Alliance for the Republic is the most popular party in the Republic of Beluzia. We support pragmatism and liberty! History: The party was founded in 4899 by conservatives and businessmen who were upset with the current situation of Beluzia due to the lack of conservative representation in parliament and government. Alexander Destrayn managed to win the election of 4904 and created a fiscally conservative but socially moderate platform. But after the defeat in the election of 4908 John Cantrell became leader of the party and transformed it into a classical Conservative party. He won the elections of 4912 and 4916. 4920 the party lost its absolute majority and the presidency. As a consequence populists and traditionalists were elected as cabinet nominees in internal primaries. In 4922 the party congress decided that John Cantrell will be the presidential nominee in the election of 4924 but that Darell Bishop, a religious traditionalist, is the new party leader. Bishop's very extreme stance on religious topics and his introduction of fundamentalist laws caused unrest among the national committee. But the stunning victory in the 4924 election gave him a lot of support among the party and secured his position as leader. Because Bishop did not manage to accomplish anything although the party had an absolute majority, party congress elected Eleanor Heath as party leader, representing the moderate wing of the party. In 4928 party congress chose Robin Tucker as party leader in a highly contested election. He represents the populist wing of the party and built an alliance between populists and religious fundamentalists. In 4932 Tucker lost the presidential race and the party lost about 15% in the popular vote. As a consequence, a lot of party members were upset with his leadership. As a consequence, in 4935 Oye Tsukiko was elected as leader. He was popular because of his moderate stance on many issues. In addition the party changed its name and color. The election of 4936 had ambivalent results. On the one hand the party lost seats but on the other hand it managed to win the presidency. In 4940 the party lost again a lot of seats but Oye Tsukiko managed to be reelected as leader because of his influence among important party members. Due to the results of the election of 4944 the party decided to nominate Ryan Snyder for president in the next election but Oye Tsukiko stayed party leader.
