Description[?]:

The Christian Social Union is a Christian Democratic and Centrist political party.

We were founded on 12 September 2563 following a convention of the old Family of the Kazulians party, where it was decided that the party needed to go in a new direction in order to best represent the needs of the Kazulian people. The Christian Social Party of Kazulia was thus formed.

The new party was set up in part as a result of the deteriorating social conditions in Kazulia resulting from the moderately laissez-faire economic policies pursued in the post-communist era. Whilst the Family of the Kazulians was instrumental in undoing the damaging and authoritarian policies of the the Communist extremeists, it was becoming increasingly clear that a new economic balance had to be drawn in Kazulia.

At the same time, it was realized that further progress was required in the social and moral fields to build on the great strides made under the Family of the Kazulians.

It is for these reasons that the new party adheres to Catholic social teaching. We aim to find a third way between the immoral excesses of laissez-faire capitalism and the statist Communist/Soicalist policies with their disregard for the individual human being.

Our policies are based mainly on the Papal encyclicals Rerum Novarum and Quadragesimo Anno.

Our most important policies can be summarised as follows:
Religion: We believe in freedom of religion and conscience. The state has a role in ensuring the primacy of Christian values in all aspects of life.
The Family: The family is the foundation upon which society is built. We want to encourage strong families and reject any attempts to undermine this institution through recognition of homosexual partnerships or co-habiting partners.
The Social-market economy: The state should
regulate the economy so as to provide economic justice.
Sanctity of life: We are oppossed to abortion and Euthanasia and believe in proprtionate punishment for the taking of human life.

Random fact: When it comes to creating a Cultural Protocol in a Culturally Open nation, players are not necessarily required to provide a plausible backstory for how the nation's cultural background developed. However, the provision of a plausible backstory may be a factor in whether Moderation approves the Cultural Protocol if players in surrounding nations question its appropriateness for their region of the game map.

Random quote: "Soldiers are not the enemies of the movement. They're potential allies. They're more than that. Soldiers are the only people in America who are paying a stiff price for this war. Everybody else profits. Soldiers are the ones losing their lives, losing friends, having their lives disrupted. The real victims of American imperialism are its soldiers." - Fred Gardner
