Jakania-Kalopia Treaty of Cooperation and Friendship

| The Republic of Jakania and its successor states shall be herein referred to as Jakania and the Kalopian Republic and its successor states shall be herein referred to as Kalopia. The following treaty is for the purpose of strengthening relations between Jakania and Kalopia. Article I Jakania and Kalopia agree to maintain channels of communication open, establish embassies and appoint ambassadors in accordance with laws of the respective host nation. Article II There shall be free trade between Jakania and Kalopia. The governments of neither nation shall attempt to establish tariffs, quotas, or taxes on any imports or exports that flow between them. By default, this article covers all economic activity, including goods, services, and labour specifically including but not limited to agricultural products, household appliances, pharmaceutical and other medical products, electronic equipment and commercial air flights. The governments of Jakania and Kalopia may choose to exclude particular industries in order to protect their economic position but this should only be done after notifying the partner government and with good reason. No such industries have been identified at the time of ratification. Article III Jakania and Kalopia agree that the currently existing territorial boundaries of each are legitimate and accurate and will respect them as such. Further, both states pledge non aggression toward each other. Article IV Nationals of either countries holding valid passports may travel to and stay for a period not exceeding 90 days in the territory of other country without a visa. Either country may temporarily suspend the application of this article for reasons of national security and public order. Such suspension of the article shall be notified immediately to the other country through diplomatic channels. Article V Jakania and Kalopia recognise that continued cooperation and friendship is desirable. As a result both governments commit to re-evaluating this arrangement at regular intervals in an attempt to deepen the ties between the two states. |
