Bill: Conference on the Establishment on an Inter-Parliamentary Union Representation

Details

Submitted by[?]: Free Beluzians

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This bill is a resolution. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: September 2084

Description[?]:

Rutania is calling for a conferance to establish an international legislative body.

The Free Beluzians feel that Beluzia should have a representative at this conferance. Being represented at this conferance does not obligate us to join any union or other legal body formed of that conferance, but would increase our prestige in said body if we joined from the very begining.

I am only seeking to keep our options open.

Addmendum:

Maria Weimar, a member of the Free Beluzian Party, would be the Representative of Beluzia at this Conferance

MessageI don't like the idea of "an Inter-Parliamentary Union Representation" thingamabobber so I'm going to vote no. We need allies, not pointless chat. It will turn out like any other international body that has tried to do to much - costly, bereaucratic, corrupt and a social club for appeasers.

It might do good. It will do no harm. Why not support it?

MessageSome simple minimum standards to which private companies have to subscribe will not cost billions. Again, the PAL is fearmongering. Environmental regulation is normal for polluting industries. Should the government not also make sure that our children are properly looked after?

MessageThe PPP Insists that the Peoples Reichsminister für Volksaufklärung und Propaganda, Niccolo Goebbels, be chosen for this mission. Only he can be trusted with confidence to knock the foriegn menace back on their heels. He is quite eager to put the fear of God into those depraved heathens!

MessagePAL, we in the FBP are not suggesting that we join such a Union, but rather attend the meetings that might lead to such a union.

It might turn out that we would wish to join the union - and certainly give it the strength to not be rendered... stupid.

MessageThis is an infringement of the powers of the Foreign Minister! You do not even respect the wishes of the Beluzian people who put him there! We would give the FBP our support but only as a fully fledged Foreign Minister. You are breaking down what little democracy you had left.

MessageAs far as I know we have the right to vote on whatever pleases us as a parliament.

And this is why I recommend the Neo-Marxist revolutionary Party propose a new cabinet that reflects the will of the people.

MessageLabor believes that the foreign minister does not enjoy the confidence of the people, and would be surprised if the foreign minister even enjoys the confidence of the house. Labor supports diplomatic engagement - peace WITH our neighbours, not from them.

Random fact: "OOC", "IC" and "IG" are commonly-used acronyms in Particracy. "OOC" refers to comments, discussions and actions which are out-of-character, meaning they are done player-to-player rather than party-to-party. "IC" refers to in-character interactions (ie. party-to-party). Similarly, "IG" means in-game, although this term may also simply refer to what happens in the actual game interface, as opposed to on the forum or elsewhere. "RP" just means "role-play".

Random quote: "When I see a 9/11 victim family on television, or whatever, I'm just like, "Oh shut up" I'm so sick of them because they're always complaining." - Glenn Beck
