Bill: Public Schooling System

Details

Submitted by[?]: Zywiec Party

Status[?]: passed

Votes: This is an ordinary bill. It requires more yes votes than no votes. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: October 2361

Description[?]:

Our country currently makes families pay private companies to educate their children, THEN, if the family could afford to put the children through primary and secondary schooling our government FULLY subsidizes their post secondary education. This bill will correct this backwards practice by establishing a public school system once again.

MessageThe poor certainly can and do pay for private education if they wish. In U.S. history alone thousands of communities successfully educated all of their children for decades with nothing but private schools and teachers. How was it possible? Because there was no monopoly of education you now know as 'public school'. The government is just like any other company, except with the distinct advantage of being able to take your money at the point of a gun and getting away with it.

The problem with convincing people that they're getting 'free' education is the same whenever the government bullies into any market: demand far outblows supply, your quality goes to pot, and you end up with the pathetic bloated catastrophe that is the education system of today's 'advanced' societies. If you really wanted to correct a backwards practice, you would take a look at the laws of reality and stop these government monopolies altogether.

Random fact: "Game mechanics comes first." For example, if a currently-enforced bill sets out one law, then a player cannot claim the government has set out a contradictory law.

Random quote: "In Germany they first came for the Communists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Communist. Then they came for the Jews, and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a Jew. Then they came for the trade unionists and I didn't speak up because I wasn't a trade unionist. Then they came for the Catholics, and I didn't speak up because I was a Protestant. Then they came for me--and by that time no one was left to speak up." - Pastor Martin Niemoller
