Message | It helps our pockets and lets us have a more focused view, plus we can either convert some old schools to universities and auction the rest to the private sector for a profit. |
Date | 06:11:57, May 16, 2007 CET | From | Party Royale | To | Debating the Leaner, Meaner, HIgher Education |
Message | Not everyone can go to a university. Vocational schools and other colleges are absolutely necessary to educate those, such as plumbers, carpenters, and law clerks who need education beyond high school, but don't need to go to a full-fledged, four-year university. This bill would deny education to many people, and would represent a step backward in achieveing social equality by blocking access to status-advancing education to those too poor to pay for it. |
Date | 16:03:21, May 16, 2007 CET | From | Moderate Libertarian Party (NoCoalition) | To | Debating the Leaner, Meaner, HIgher Education |
Message | More taxpayer money--take, take, take. The current system funded and run by government is not good enough so now this bill wants to nationalize it all. Big mistake. It homogonizes education in this country and costs more money. No chance. |
