Bill: Proposal ammendment

Details

Submitted by[?]: Social Democratic Party

Status[?]: defeated

Votes: This bill asks for an amendement to the Constitution. It will require two-thirds of the legislature to vote in favor. This bill will not pass any sooner than the deadline.

Voting deadline: May 2424

Description[?]:

The Social Democratic Party proposes inreasing the number of proposals a party can introduce per year as well as the maximum proposal quota a party can accumulate. We believe this in this increase because it is mainly by proposing legislation that parties make themselves known to the electorate. The current proposal levels make this very difficult which means each party is not given a fair chance at each election. We believe therefore that in order to have fair elections, the task of accquiring visibility with the electorate must not be a problem.

MessageOOC: This should make things funner, as more people can propose more legislation if they want. As the basis of this game is voting, I say, the more the merrier.

IC: We wish to encourage active legislators.

MessageAs a party that has some previous experience with this game, we feel that the current quotas are satisfactory. An increase in the number of bills tends to substitute quantity for quality and cheapens the debate process.

Messagepoint two is the real killer for us, but in general we agree with the LPM. Though we would support a slight increase in the rate.
