The Liberal Party of Malivia is a centrist party, standing for: *Social Progressivism; *Respect and admiration for the supreme values of Democracy and freedom of speech and thought; *The intransigent promotion of a truly competitive economy, and free trade; *An enabling and efficient welfare-state, making sure that all citizens have access to free public health care and education and social justice; *Gradual and pragmatic change rather than dogmatic radicalism; *Promotion of multiculturalism, free-thought and pluralism; *Environmental sustainability; *Secularism and separation of church and state; *Federalism and decentralization of power. Economic Left/Right: -0.50 Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -5.28 We are also noted for our staunch and uncompromising opposition to nationalism and other extreme ideologies while rejecting the right-wing model of a society based on adherence to outdated nostrums, with conservative laws that heavily limit individual and social freedom and also refusing the left-wing model of state control of economic activity and government waste that completely strangles private initiative, while focusing on public services that are bureaucratic, slow and inflexible. |
