| The scientific community has established that cannabis is no more dangerous than ciggerettes or alcohol, both of which are socially acceptable. We feel we should rectify this problem and prevent otherwise law abiding citizens from being criminilised for a personal chpice. The use of cannabis will mnot affect other citizens who do not choose to partake in it. It will to smoke it in public areas and pubs. We believe money recieved from taxing this substance will help the economy and provide better educational facilities to allow the population to make an informed decision. |

| Message | Yet you reject the exact same logic when applied to pornography or hate speech, both of which pose smaller health threats and are just as personal? You think the people are responsible enough to decide when and how to use cannabis, but not responsible enough to determine how much money they want to put away in a bank for retirement (despite the fact that molecular biology is thousands of times more complicated and less widely understood than accounting)? I sense a big double standard. |
